VERUM AGRO TRADING IS IMPLEMENTING CONSERVATIVE FARMING PRACTICES

Image

Verum Agro Trading has set ambitious goals for 2023. In this context, the company's management has made the decision to register on the ♻️AgreenaCarbon platform to obtain carbon certificates, which means that it will gradually move to conservative farming practices.

What does conservation agriculture entail and what are its benefits?

"Conservative Agriculture practices, by preserving soil moisture, help us to have a stable agriculture. In the years with a lot of precipitation, we have a rich harvest, and in the dry ones, the small harvests do not even allow us to pay back the investments. We want to balance the balance and maintain a constant production yield", said Artur Lesco, the company's production director.

By switching to sustainable agricultural practices, the farmer greatly reduces his production costs and, at the same time, can also benefit from financial rewards for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The "AgreenaCarbon carbon certificates" program is implemented by Proteh Agro SRL, the official partner of Agreena (Denmark) in the Republic of Moldova and stimulates farmers on their way to sustainable agriculture with carbon sequestration in the soil. To reduce carbon emissions and be able to obtain the certificates, it is enough for the farmer to switch from plowing to Mini-Till.
